The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth and expansion by identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with international remittance partners, and overseeing strategic partnerships in the fintech and remittance industry. The role will primarily focus on leveraging the candidate’s extensive network across the Middle East and US corridors to scale the business.
Key Functions and Responsibilities:
Business Development & Partnership Management
- Build and manage relationships with international remittance companies and fintech partners.
- Leverage an existing network within the remittance and fintech industry, with a focus on expanding partnerships across key corridors, including but not limited to the Middle East and US.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in cross-border remittances.
- Drive revenue growth by expanding remittance corridors and ensuring partner engagement.
Market Expansion & Strategic Initiatives
- Develop strategies for market penetration in key regions, including the Middle East and North America.
- Develop and present business cases for new initiatives, including financial projections and risk assessments.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, potential markets, and the competitive landscape.
- Provide management with detailed market intelligence reports to inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment on partner-driven marketing and expansion efforts.
- Lead negotiations and commercial discussions with international remittance partners to secure mutually beneficial agreements.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth execution of projects
Sales & Relationship Management
- Build and nurture relationships with clients to ensure long-term partnerships.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on market research and trends to enhance business offerings.
- Achieve and exceed business targets through strategic initiatives and tactical partnerships.
- Serve as the primary advocate for new products and services, both internally and externally.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights and feedback.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure alignment on goals and expectations.
- Provide regular updates to management and stakeholders on the status of business development initiatives.
Innovation
- Recommend project and process improvement ideas and recommendations together with team members;
- Participate in the execution of approved Annual Department Plans or Strategies; and
Others
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the AVP - Digital Business to contribute to overall business success.
Qualification:
- Education. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- MBA or relevant certifications in fintech/remittances preferred.
- Experience. At least 5-7 years of business development experience in the remittance and fintech industries.
- Strong network within the international remittance sector, particularly in the Middle East and US regions.
- Proven track record in driving partnerships and business growth across cross-border remittance channels.
